About us...

Vive Oaxaca en Santa Cruz

In the last fourteen years Vive Oaxaca has grown from a Santa Cruz City Schools club with seven members to more than 300 children, youth, and adults. Vive Oaxaca is now a multi-service nonprofit and is focused on strengthening the Santa Cruz community and creating cross-cultural connections locally and abroad. Latino culture is celebrated through dance and music classes and performances. Our members are participating in pro-social after-school activities (an alternative to street gangs) and celebrating their countries of origin with pride. Tutoring, classes, and scholarships support biliteracy and academic success. Vive Oaxaca serves children, youth, and adults, is run entirely with volunteers, and charges no fees. Vive Oaxaca operates in strong partnership with Santa Cruz City Schools, the Mexican Consulate, and the Museum of Art and History (MAH).
